ORDER : This petition coming on for orders upon perusing the petition and the affidavit filed in support thereof and upon hearing the arguments of M/S.T.LENIN KUMAR, Advocate for the petitioner and of Mr.A.K.Baskarapandian, Special Government Pleader for R1 and Mr.P.Mahendran, Standing Counsel for R2, and Ms.Porkodi Kannan, Standing Counsel for R3 to R5, the court made the following order:- 1/3
(ORDER OF THE COURT WAS MADE BY M.SATHYANARAYANAN, J.) The present public interest litigation is filed by a practicing advocate and according to him, there is undue delay in completing the construction of underground drainage and though in some places it has been completed, roads have not been laid and as a consequence, the road users and residents of the locality are put to untold sufferings and hardships and, hence, prays for appropriate orders.

Notice of motion returnable on 27.9.2019.
Mr.A.K.Baskarapandian, learned Special Government Pleader accepts notice for the 1st respondent; Ms.Porkodi Kannan, learned standing counsel accepts notice for respondents 3 to 5; Mr.P.Mahendran, learned standing counsel accepts notice for the 2nd respondent.
3. In the light of the facts and circumstances, respondents 1 to 3 are directed to file status reports in the form of affidavits with supporting documents and photographs as to the timely completion of the underground drainage project as well as laying of pucca motorable roads over it.
4. Call on 27.09.2019. Registry is directed to communicate a copy of this order to all the respondents.
