ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for a Mandamus to direct the respondents to consider and treat the petitioner's name as Ilayathambi instead of earlier name, James Peter in Agriculture Electricity Connection Application No.200054610625641, dated 13.06.2025, with all relevant records without insisting any certificates of name change as per Tamilnadu Government Gazette Privates Advertisement for changes of name, dated 01.06.2011.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has changed his name from James Peter to Ilayathambi and to that effect, the petitioner has also advertised the change in the gazette publication on 01.06.2011. It is submitted that the petitioner submitted an online application on 13.06.2025 for changing the name in the agricultural electricity connection standing in the former name of the petitioner. 2/5

3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel for the respondents.

4. The respondents are directed to consider the petitioner's online application dated 13.06.2025 and make necessary changes in the name of the petitioner in the agricultural electricity connection as expeditiously as possible preferably within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. The writ petition stands disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
