This writ petition has been filed, seeking a direction to the respondents 1 to 3 to take appropriate action for preventing the first honour being given to the 4th respondent or any other person in the Kumbabisekam of Sri Manthai Veerana Swamy Thirukkovil https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

situated in Melur Taluk, Madurai District to be conducted on 11.04.2016 by considering the representation of the petitioner dated 29.03.2016 and further directing the respondents 1 to 3 to take appropriate action for receiving Thalaikattu Vari from the families of second Karai Vappiyar sect and further directing the respondents 1 to 2 to provide adequate police protection for the smooth conduct of Kumbabiseka Festival of Sri Manthai Veerana Swamy Thirukkoil situated in Melur Taluk, Madurai District to be conducted on 11.04.2016 by not giving first honour to any person.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondents 1 to 3.

When the case was taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Government Pleader, on instructions from the respondent police, submitted that the police is not taking sides either with the petitioner or with the 4th respondent and that the police will only implement the order lawfully passed by the authorities, be it, Revenue Authorities or the Court.

Recording the same, this writ petition is closed. No costs. Consequently connected Miscellaneous in WMP No.5768 of 2016 is closed.
