[Order of the Court was made by N.ANAND VENKATESH, J.] This writ petition has been filed challenging the impugned proceedings of the first respondent made in No. 161939/Tha.Ku.4/2026, dated 06.05.2026, wherein the first respondent while granting six days emergency leave imposed a condition that the convict will be accompanied by an escort. This condition has been put to challenge in the present writ petition.

2. Heard the learned counsel on either side.

3. The petitioner is the mother of the life convict. The convict is presently undergoing sentence at Central Prison, Trichy. A representation was made by the petitioner seeking for emergency leave and the first respondent considering the representation granted six days emergency leave, however, imposed a condition that the convict will be accompanied by an escort. This condition has been put to challenge in the present writ petition.

4. The learned counsel for the State of Tamil Nadu (Criminal Side) on instructions submitted that the petitioner has undergone sentence of four years and six months and on earlier occasions, the convict was granted emergency leave once and ordinary leave once.

5. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and considering the reason for which the emergency leave has been sought for, we are inclined to modify the condition imposed by the first respondent to the effect that the convict will report before the second respondent daily at 05.00 p.m., during the entire period of emergency leave. The other conditions imposed by the first respondent shall stand as it is.

6. This Writ Petition (Criminal Side) is disposed of in the above terms.
