ORDER
The present Writ Petition has been filed for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing respondents 1 to 5 to conduct a survey and demarcate the petitioner's property by fixing its four boundaries, with adequate police protection, in Survey No.211/6C, measuring an extent of 4 cents, situated in Ward A, Block No.26, Survey Field No.71, Melur Taluk, Madurai District, based on the petitioner's Application No.2026/0178/24/000194 dated 25.03.2026, and consequently to ascertain the location and boundaries of the trees claimed by the eighth respondent, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.
2. Originally, the property belonged to one Mohammed Salih, who executed a General Power of Attorney in favour of P. Sethuraman vide Document No.4 of 2006 dated 07.02.2006. The said Sethuraman executed a sale deed in favour of the petitioner vide Document No.5578 of 2013 dated 16.09.2013. Thereafter, the petitioner has been in possession and enjoyment of the property. The petitioner is intended to construct a new house in the said property. Therefore, he submitted an application to the official respondent to survey the property. The contention of the petitioner is that private respondents 7 and 8 are disputing the boundaries of the petitioner's property and the ninth respondent is claiming that he has planted certain trees in the petitioner's property and objection for surveying the property. 3/6
Hence, the petitioner is seeking a survey of the subject property.

In view of the above, the third respondent is directed to conduct a survey with the assistance of the fourth respondent after issuing notice to the petitioner, respondents 6 to 9 and the rival claimants, if any. If the third respondent requires police protection, the same shall be provided by the fifth respondent. The official respondents shall adhere to the following Standard Operating Procedures: • The official respondents shall issue notice to the petitioner immediately reaching the spot where survey is to be conducted. The petitioner shall affix the signature by receiving the notice of survey. • After survey again the petitioner shall affix signature indicating that the survey was conducted to their satisfaction.
• If the petitioner is not satisfied, then also the petitioner shall affix signature indicating their dissatisfaction or with protest. The petitioner shall indicate that reason of their dissatisfaction or protest. The aforesaid procedure shall be strictly followed by the parties. The said exercise shall be completed within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. With the above directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
