*********** The prayer in the Writ Petition is to direct the respondents to provide employment to the petitioner under compassionate ground.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner.

3. The case of the petitioner is that the father of the petitioner was working as Postal Assistant and he died in harness on 27.07.2005. Therefore, seeking appointment on compassionate ground, the petitioner applied with the respondents department on 01.06.2007. However, the same has not been considered so far, which resulted in filing the present Writ Petition.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, without going into the merits of the case, this Court directs the respondents to consider the claim of the petitioner seeking appointment on compassionate ground on merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders thereon, after due opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. The Writ Petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
