PRAYER : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, direct the respondents 1 to 4 to grant permission to the petitioner and other villagers to conduct temple festival namely Sri Mariamman, Sri Bagavathiyammal Temples, situated at Servaikaranpatti, Rengapalayam Puthur, Tholipatti Village, Gujiliyamparai Via, Dindigul District, based upon the petitioner's representation dated 12.06.2026, scheduled to be held on 19.06.2026 and 26.06.2026 to 28.06.2026 by providing necessary police protection for celebration of temple festival. ORDER

Seeking to direct the respondents 1 to 4 to grant permission to the petitioner and other villagers to conduct temple festival namely Sri Mariamman, Sri Bagavathiyammal Temples, situated at Servaikaranpatti, Rengapalayam Puthur, Tholipatti Village, Gujiliyamparai Via, Dindigul District, based upon the petitioner's representation dated 12.06.2026, scheduled to be held on 19.06.2026 and 26.06.2026 to 28.06.2026 by providing necessary police protection for celebration of temple festival, this writ petition is filed. 2/5

2. Since no adverse order is passed against the private respondents, notice to the private respondents is dispensed with.

3. The learned Government Advocate(Crl.side) on instructions submitted that with regard to the representations received from the petitioner, enquiry is pending.

4. Heard the learned counsel on either side and carefully perused the materials available on record.

5. In view of the above, the 2nd respondent police is directed to put the petitioner as well as the respondents 5 to 7 on notice under Section 64 BNSS requiring them to appear on 18.06.2026 and conclude the enquiry on the same day facilitating the temple authorities to conduct temple festival.

6. With the above directions, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. 17.06.2026 NCC : Yes / No Index : Yes / No gbg Note : Issue order copy on 17.06.2026.
