This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondents to settle the petitioner's difference in commutation amount of Rs.5,00,000/- together with interest at the rate of 18% per annum payable from 31.07.2017, the date of the retirement of the petitioner till the date of actual payment.

2.According to the petitioner, he was retired from service on 31.07.2017 and the petitioner is entitled to get difference in commutation amount of Rs.5,00,000/-. In this regard, he made a representation to the respondents on 02.03.2020. However, the respondents have not taken any steps to pay the commutation amount till date. Hence, he approaches this Court to pass appropriate order.
3.The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents would fairly submit that the representation of the petitioner will be disposed of on merits and in accordance with law. 4.Considering the submissions made by the learned counsel for the petitioner as well as the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents, this Court directs the respondents to dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 02.03.2020 and to take necessary steps to disburse the difference in commutation amount of Rs.5,00,000/- along with eligible interest within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 5.With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
