Respondents (R6 is suo motu impleaded vide order dated 08.07.2025 in W.P.(MD) No.18453 of 2025) PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents 2 to 4 to expeditiously provide Electricity connection to the petitioner's dwelling house, based on the petitioner's representation, dated 17.06.2025 in the light of several order passed by Hon'ble Apex Court and under Article 21 guaranteed by the Constitution of India and pass such further or other orders as this Court. ORDER
This Writ Petition is disposed of at the time of admission with the consent of the learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Standing Counsel for the respondents 1 to 4 and 6 and after dispensing the notice to the fifth respondent as no adverse orders are proposed to be passed against her. 2/5
2. It is informed by the learned Standing Counsel for the respondents 1 to 4 that no application has been received by respondents 1 to 4 herein.
3. It is further informed that the appropriate Authority is Assistant Engineer, Ragunathapuram, Ramnad District, however, the petitioner has not impleaded the said Officer as respondent.
4. It is noticed that the petitioner has given a representation, dated 17.06.2025 to the respondents 2 to 4 and hence, the respondents 2 to 4 are directed to transmit the aforesaid representation, dated 17.06.2025 to their counterpart, namely, the Assistant Engineer, Ragunathapuram, Ramnad District forthwith.
5. Hence, the Assistant Engineer, Ragunathapuram, Ramnad District, is suo motu impleaded as sixth respondent herein, who shall consider the aforesaid representation of the petitioner, dated 17.06.2025 and pass appropriate orders after due notice to the fifth respondent within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
