ORDER

This Criminal Original petition is filed seeking for a direction to earlier disposal of the C.C.No.267 of 2021 pending on the file of the 1/4

learned Judicial Magistrate No.II, Thanjavur within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

2. It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner / defacto complainant that on a basis of the complaint of the petitioner, police have filed C.C.No.267 of 2021, for the offences under Sections 406, 420, 467, 486, 471 against accused Nos.1 to 3. It is submitted that summons against the first accused was not served and that police are not evincing any interest in the summons served on the other accused.

3. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor submits that the next date of hearing in the trial Court is on 21.09.2023 and by the time, the respondent police would serve the summons.

4. Considering the circumstances, this petition is disposed of directing the respondent police to get the summons served on all accused persons before the next day of hearing on the file of the Judicial Magistrate No.II, Thanjavur, that is on 21.09.2023 and thereafter all accused are appeared, the learned Judicial Magistrate No.II, Thanjavur, is 2/4

directed to expedite the trial and dispose of the same as quickly as possible not later than eight months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.With this direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
