Mr.M.Murugan, learned Government Advocate takes notice for the respondents.

2. By consent of parties, the main Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal.

3. The case of the petitioner is that he was appointed as Road Inspector Grade-II on 07.01.2010 as per the seniority list sponsored by the Employment Exchange, Thoothukudi. As per G.O.Ms.No.856 Public Works Department, dated 01.06.1977, the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

promotion to the Post of Road Inspector Grade I, will be given to the Road Inspector Grade II, who has successfully completed five years of service in the said category. According to the petitioner, he completed five years of service as Road Inspector Grade II on 06.01.2015. Hence, the petitioner made a representation to the third respondent on 08.01.2015 through proper channel seeking him to promote the petitioner to the Post of Road Inspector Grade I. As there was no response, explaining all the above facts, the petitioner has made another representation on 04.03.2016. Even the said representation is said to be still pending. Hence, the petitioner has come forward with the present Writ Petition for the above stated relief.

Considering the above facts and circumstances of the case, without going into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, the respondents are directed to consider the representation of the petitioner school, dated 04.03.2016 and pass orders on the same, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No Costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
