Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to forbear from cutting down the six tamarind trees situated in Sy.No.67 of Paraipatti Village, Madurai District and consequently direct the respondents to receive annual taxes for the 2c patta on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 12.08.2022.

ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for the following relief : "directing the respondents to forbear from cutting down the six tamarind trees situated in Sy.No.67 of Paraipatti Village, Madurai District and consequently direct the respondents to receive annual taxes for the 2c patta on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 12.08.2022."

2. On instructions, the learned Additional Government Pleader would submit that no tamarind trees have been cut down. As regards the consequent relief, the petitioner shall make a fresh online application to the 2nd respondent.

3. In view of the submissions made by the learned Additional Government Pleader, the petitioner is directed to make a fresh application online to the 2nd respondent and on receipt of such application, the 2nd

respondent is directed to consider the same and pass orders, in accordance with law, after giving an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner. The said exercise shall be completed within a period of two (2) months from the date of receipt of copy of this order. It is needless to state that, in the interregnum, no trees shall be cut down.

4. Recording the same, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
