POCSO Act, Madurai has filed this petition for a direction to the trial Court to dispose of the case within stipulated time. 2.The learned Counsel for the petitioner submits that despite the orders of this Court dated 20.06.2024 passed in CrlOP(MD)No.8967 of 2024 to dispose of the above case expeditiously, the case is not yet disposed of.
3.When this petition is taken up for hearing the learned Government Advocate (CrlSide) appearing for the respondent police submits that there are five accused in this case. The trial has commenced. PW1 was examined in chief, however, accused 4 and 5 have failed to cross examine PW1. Therefore, they have filed an application to recall PW1 for cross examination, it has been allowed and the case is posted for cross examination of PW1 on 14.07.2025.
4.This Court by order dated 20.06.2024 in CrlOP(MD)No.8967 of 2024 directed the trial Court to dispose of the case in SplSC.No.136 of 2022 expeditiously. The trial Court is also expected to provide sufficient opportunity to the accused. The accused have filed an application to 2/4
recall the witnesses and it has also been allowed and the case is posted to 14.07.2025. Therefore, this Court directs the Special Court for Exclusive Trial of Cases under the POCSO Act, Madurai to complete the cross examination of PW1 on 14.07.2025 without granting any further time and to dispose of the above case as expeditiously as possible. 5.This petition is disposed of in the above terms. 10.07.2025 DSK To 1.The Sessions Judge, Special Court for Exclusive Trial of Cases under the POCSO Act, Madurai.
