ORDER

Mr.T.R.Janarthanam, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for the respondent.

2. By consent of parties, the main Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal.

3. The petitioner seeks for a Mandamus directing the respondent to return the driving licence of the petitioner bearing D.L.No.TN-47-19800000230 to him forthwith.

4. The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner has been working as Driver in the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (Kumbakonam) Limited. While so, for the accident caused by him on 04.04.2016, a case in Crime No.85 of 2016 was registered for the offences under Sections 279 and 304(A) of I.P.C., and the license of the petitioner was also seized by the police. Hence, the petitioner has made a representation before the respondent on 06.04.2016 requesting to https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ return the driving licence. But the same was not considered so far.

Hence, the petitioner has come forward with the present Writ Petition for the above stated relief.

5. Considering the limited scope of the prayer made in this Writ Petition, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, the respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 06.04.2016 and pass appropriate orders on the same, on merits and in accordance with law as expeditiously as possible.

With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No Costs.
