This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Mandamus to direct the first respondent i.e., the Director of Town Panchayat, Chennai to pass appropriate orders on the petitioner's https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

representation dated 08.03.2016 regarding promotion as Overseer on par with his juniors as ordered by the Director of Town Panchayat, Chennai in his R.C.No.15108/2011/A6 dated 03.03.2016 based on the proposals sent by the Assistant Director of Panchayat, Sivagangai in his R.C.No.3655/2012/D2 dated 04.02.2013 to the Director of Town Panchayat, Chennai within a specified time frame that may be fixed by this Hon'ble Court.

2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioners would submit that it would suffice if a direction is given to the first respondent to consider and pass order on the representation of the petitioner dated 08.03.2016, within the stipulated time.

3. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents would submit that the respondents will consider the representation of the petitioner dated 08.03.2016.

4. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents.

5. In view of the limited scope of the prayer, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the issue involved, the first respondent is directed to pass appropriate orders on the representation of the petitioner dated 08.03.2016 on merits and in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible.

6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
