O R D E R

*********** The petitioner has come up with the present Writ Petition seeking a direction to the respondent to complete the disciplinary proceedings initiated against him in TDP.No.1/2015, within the stipulated time fixed by this Court.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondent.

3. The grievance of the petitioner is that while working as Sub-Inspector of Police, Vikramangalam Police Station, he was served with a charge memo alleging demand of bribe, pursuant to which, disciplinary proceedings were initiated against him in TDP.No.1/29015. Since the same is kept pending so far without any order being passed, the petitioner has approached this Court seeking appropriate directions.

4. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondent submits that appropriate orders would be passed on the disciplinary proceedings initiated against the petitioner, within the time stipulated by this Court.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case also having regard to the submissions made by the learned Special Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondent, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the respondent to dispose of the disciplinary proceedings initiated against the petitioner in TDP.No.1/2015, on merits and in accordance with law, if not disposed earlier, after due opportunity of hearing to the petitioner. Such an exercise shall be completed, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. The Writ Petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
