ORDER

The present writ petition has been filed seeking direction to the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 19.06.2023 within the time framed by this Court.

2. The petitioner was appointed as Meter Reader in the respondent corporation on 13.07.1999. Thereafter, he was shifted to the post of Revenue Inspector in the respondent corporation. While he was in service, he had some medical issues and underwent a heart surgery. Because of his ill-health, he was unable to do his regular work and a result of which, he had given a petition seeking voluntary retirement from service. Considering the petitioner's grievances, the respondent corporation permitted him to be relieved from service on the condition that he will be availing voluntary retirement scheme on 03.09.2022. After being relieved from service under voluntary retirement scheme on 03.09.2022, the respondent corporation did not disburse his terminal benefits which would come to a tune of Rs.11,12,133/-. The petitioner has given a detailed representation on 19.06.2023 seeking to disburse his terminal benefits. However, the same was not considered.

3. The learned counsel for the respondent would submit that his representation will be considered in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks.

4. Heard Mr.N.Murugesan, learned counsel for the petitioner and M/s.S.Devasena, learned standing counsel for the respondent.

This Court is inclined to direct the respondent corporation to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 19.06.2023 and forthwith disburse the entire terminal benefits whatever the petitioner is entitled to. The said exercise shall be completed within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. In view of the same, this Writ Petition stands allowed. No costs.
