ORDER
The petitioner has prayed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents herein to settle the pending amount of Rs.200 Lakhs under the scheme of Integrated Urban Development Mission 2020-2021 (IUDM), laying of roads in Sathappanagar, Thailapuram, Seenivasanagar, Ramnagar and Samathuvapuram in Pudukkottai Municipality (Assessment : Rs.200 Lakhs) and under the scheme of 14th Finance Commission Grant 2019-2020, for laying of roads in Pudukkottai Municipality Rs.22 Lakhs and pay the deposits, which were pending before the third respondent with an interest of 8 percent till the payment of money within the time limit that may be stipulated by this Court.
2. According to the learned counsel for the petitioner, the petitioner has been accredited as State Level First Class Contractor by the Government of Tamil Nadu. The third respondent herein called for tender for laying of roads in Sathappanagar, Thailapuram, Seenivasanagar, Ramnagar and Samathuvapuram 2/5
in Pudukkottai Municipality and also for laying of roads in Pudukkottai Municipality. The petitioner had participated in the said tender and declared as successful bidder. Though he has completed the work even two years before, the respondents did not turn up to pay the bill amount. The petitioner has also sent a representation dated 06.07.2022, to the respondents. Since the same has not been considered so far, the petitioner has approached this Court by way of filing the present Writ Petition.
3. The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the third respondent submitted that the bill amount would be paid to the petitioner as and when the same would be received from the Government.
4. Recording the aforesaid submission made by the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the third respondent, this Court directs the third respondent to pay the bill amount to the petitioner as and when the same would be received from the Government, as expeditiously as possible.
5. This Writ Petition stands disposed of with the above direction. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed. Index : Yes/No 30.11.2022 3/5
