Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents 1 and 2 to conduct the peace committee meeting based on the petitioner's representation dated 23.09.2021 in respect of "Kumbabishegam festival of Azhagu Nachiyamman Temple" situated at Kidakuzhi Village, Thiruppuvanam Taluk, Sivagangai District within the time frame fixed by this Court.

ORDER

The petitioners seek a peace committee meeting in relation to the Kumbabishegam festival of the Azhagu Nachiyamman Temple at Kidakuzhi Village, Thiruppuvanam Taluk, Sivagangai District. 2.The petitioners state that the above mentioned temple is a public temple, wherein people of the village have worshipped the Deity for a considerable period of time without any hindrance. 3.It is stated that a new temple was constructed therein. According to the petitioners, the third and fourth respondents are preventing others from conducting the Kumbabishegam or participating in such festival. Therefore, a representation dated 23.09.2021 was submitted to the first and second respondents to conduct a peace committee meeting.

W.P(MD).No.19180 of 2021 4.Mr.P.Subbaraj, learned counsel for the State, accepts notice for respondents 1 and 2. He submits that there appears to be a dispute between the petitioners, on the one hand, and the private respondents on the other. Therefore, he submits that the Tahsildar may be directed to consider the representation. 5.In view of the submissions of learned counsel for the State, W.P.(MD)No.19180 of 2021 is disposed of by directing the second respondent to consider the petitioners' representation seeking the conduct of a peace committee meeting. Such representation shall be considered and disposed of after providing a reasonable opportunity to the petitioners, the private respondents herein and any other persons who would be affected by such decision. Such reasoned decision shall be taken within a period of thirty (30) days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. However, there will be no order as to costs.
