Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus forbearing the respondents 1 and 2 from giving any permission and protection to the 3rd respondent to conduct Historical Drama namely Veerapandia Kattabomman on 02.05.2016 in petitioners temple namely Karuppanasamy Sri Muthu Karuppanasamy, Sri Bairava Samy, Sri Pappathyammal and Selliammal which is situated at Survey No. 578, Koovanoothu Village, Nochiodaipatti, Dindigul East Taluk, Dindigul District, on the basis of the petitioners representation dated 19.04.2016.

O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for a Writ of Mandamus forbearing the respondents 1 and 2 from giving any permission and protection to the third respondent to conduct Historical Drama namely Veerapandia Kattabomman on 02.05.2016 in petitioner's temple viz., Karuppanasamy Sri Muthu Karuppanasamy, Sri Bairava Samy, Sri Pappathyammal and Selliammal which is situated at Survey No. 578, Koovanoothu Village, Nochiodaipatti, Dindigul East Taluk, Dindigul District, on the basis of the petitioner's representation, dated 19.04.2016.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the State.

3. The respondent police are directed to pass appropriate orders on the representation dated 19.04.2016 given by the petitioner either permitting or rejecting the representation, after hearing the third respondent (Alagar) and other interested parties, in accordance with law. While passing orders, the respondent police shall bear in mind the election to the State Assembly has been announced by the Election Commission and the respondent police should ensure that there is no law and order problem.

4. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
