2. By consent of both parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal.
3. In this writ petition, the petitioner Bank seeks for a direction upon the District Collector, Ramanathapuram District to expeditiously dispose of the application filed by the Bank under section 14 of the SARFAESI Act. The Officer, who is present from the Collectorate has instructed the learned Additional Government Pleader to submit that expeditious action will be taken and necessary orders will be passed within a period of twelve weeks.
4. Considering the duties and responsibilities, which are assigned to the District Collector and they being onerous and in the absence of any allegation of deliberate delay, we are not inclined to issue any direction to the respondent / District Collector to dispose of the application, since the District Collector has taken action and he will dispose it expeditiously. Thus, by recording the stand taken by the District Collector, the application of the petitioner is directed to be disposed of as expeditiously as feasible.
5. This writ petition is disposed of in the above terms. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
