ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition is filed seeking for a direction to the respondent police to complete the investigation in Crime No.3 of 2016 dated 08.11.2016.

2. It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner representing the 17th defacto complainant that on a complaint given by the petitioner, a case has been registered against the accused for the offences under Section 406, 420 and 120 B of IPC and Section 5 of the Tamil Nadu Protection of Interests of Depositor (In Financial Establishments) Act, 1997.

3. It is surprising to note that eventhough the FIR has been registered in the year 2016, even after a lapse of more than 7 years, the investigation could not be completed.

4. Learned Government Advocate reported that he has received instructions from the concerned economic police that they are going to 2/4

complete the investigation shortly and requested time for filing the charge sheet.

5. Considering the submissions of the learned Government Advocate(Crl.side) and also the learned counsel for the petitioner, taking into consideration that the police have taken 7 long years and could not complete the investigation. This petition is disposed of, directing the respondent police to complete the investigation, file the final report within a period of four weeks from the date of this order.

6. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of. .
