The petitioner seeks for the production of the person viz., Jothi, who is said to be missing from 21.08.2018. 2.Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials placed before this Court. 3.The status report filed by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor reveals that the detenue is a mentally affected person and the police have launched a thorough search in the area in and around Rameswaram.

4.It is seen from the status report filed by the Inspector of Police, Rameswaram that there is no suspected illegal detention. Hence, this Habeas Corpus Petition is closed. However, this Court https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

H.C.P.(MD) No.1611 of 2021 directs the police to continue the investigation and produce the detenue before the jurisdictional Magistrate as and when he is secured.
