ORDER

Seeking to direct the 1st respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 10.06.2026 and transfer the investigation in Crime No.17 of 2026 pending before the 5th respondent in the capacity of the 4th respondent, on the file of the All Women Police Station, Tallakulam, Madurai to another competent office not below the rank of Inspector of Police, this writ petition is filed.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is a victim of acute domestic violence. Pursuant to which, she had lodged a complaint before the All Women Police Station, Virudhunagar on 16.05.2026 which was subsequently transferred to the 5th respondent police. However, the 2/5

same remained unattended despite issuance of Crime No.17 of 2026. Hence, this petition.

3. Heard the learned counsel on either side and carefully perused the materials available on record.

4. It is seen that the 5th respondent police is insensibly conducting the investigation pertaining to Crime No.17 of 2026, dated 24.05.2026 and even after lapse of nearly 1 and 1⁄2 months, the 5th respondent police has not shown any progress in the investigation. Hence, the 1st respondent police is directed to monitor the investigation conducted by the 5th respondent. The 5th respondent is directed to conclude the investigation within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order, and he is further directed to appraise the progress of the investigation to the 1st respondent every Friday.

5. With the above directions, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. 23.06.2026 NCC : Yes / No Index : Yes / No gbg 3/5
