This contempt petition has been filed to punish the Contemnor/2nd Respondent for disobedience and failure to comply of the order passed by this Court dated 10.06.2022 in W.P(MD)No.11204 of 2022. 1/4

2. This Court, by an order, dated 10.06.2022 in W.P(MD)No.11204 of 2022, has directed the Contemnor/respondent to speed up the enquiry, conclude the investigation and consider the representation given by the petitioner.

3.When the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent police would submit that as directed by this Court, the respondent police registered the case in Crime No.868 of 2022 for the offence punishable under Sections 294(b) of IPC and Section 4 of Tamil Nadu Women Harassment Act against the accused persons.

4. Recording the said submission made by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, this Contempt Petition is closed. The respondent police is directed to complete the investigation, within a period of five weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
