: Respondents PRAYER: Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issue of a Writ of Mandamus to the 1st respondent to instruct the respondents A) to name Madurai Railway Junction as "Madurai Gandhi NMR Subbaraman Railway Station.
B) To install a Bronze statue of N.M.R.Subbaraman in front of Madurai Railway Station and so that Government of India should respond the voice of people.
C) by considering the petitioner's representation dated 19.10.2020.

ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by M.M.SUNDRESH, J) The petitioner, who is a party in person, has filed the present writ petition in pursuance of the representation made dated 19.10.2020 seeking a direction to the respondent No.3 to take appropriate action towards the naming of Madurai Railway Junction and install a bronze statue in the name of NMR Subbaraman, a freedom fighter stated to be an associate of the Father of the Nation. 2.The objection raised by the learned Assistant Solicitor General to the arraying of respondents 1 and 2 in this proceedings stands sustained and accordingly, the aforesaid authorities are deleted apart from being unnecessary.
3.Though the petitioner has sought for a larger prayer, which certainly cannot be granted by this Court, we would only expect the respondent No.3 to look into the representation and do the needful. 2/4
Thus, we are not issuing any mandamus, as we are quite conscious about the position of law in even directing the said authority to consider the representation in the absence of any statutory prescription. Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed of with the above said observation. No costs.
