This writ petition has been filed challenging the impugned punishment order dated 08.01.2021, issued by the first respondent.

2. Subsequent to the passing of the impugned punishment order, the petitioner, after accepting the conditions, has voluntarily retired from service. The proceedings of the third respondent, dated 01.11.2021, accepting the voluntary retirement request of the petitioner and disclosing the conditions for accepting voluntary retirement has also been placed on record by the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents. Having accepted the conditions, which also refer to the impugned punishment order dated 08.01.2021, passed by the first respondent, the question of re-

agitating the impugned punishment order by filing this writ petition does not arise. Since the petitioner has voluntarily retired from service subsequent to the passing of the impugned punishment order, the same cannot be challenged as it has got merged with the proceedings of the third respondent dated 01.11.2021 accepting the voluntary retirement of the petitioner.

3. After recording the aforesaid fact, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
