ORDER

The petitioner is the 3rd accused in Crime No.180 of 2024 registered on the file of the respondent, for the offence under Sections 147, 448, 427 and 506(i) IPC. He has moved this petition to quash the FIR in Crime No. 180 of 2024 registered against him.

2. When this petition is taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side), on instructions, submits that the investigation in Crime No.180 of 2024 has already been completed and the final report has also been filed before the learned Judicial Magistrate, Lalgudi, through e-filing in LTN 20220002064C202500050, on 20.02.2025.

3. Since it is reported that the final report has been filed in Crime No.180 of 2024, without ascertaining the materials relied on by the investigating agency in the final report, this Court is not inclined to proceed with the available FIR. Therefore, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed with liberty to the petitioner to challenge the final report, if he is having any ground. Mere filing of the final report through e-filing is not sufficient. The respondent Police shall ensure that the final report is taken 2/4

on file within a reasonable time. It is not only the responsibility of the respondent Police, the trial Court is also expected to take the final report on file, without any delay. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
