O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to issue Employment Preference Certificate to the petitioner's son namely, Jeyakumar as per G.O.Ms.No. 656, Labour and Employment Department, dated 29.06.1978, on the basis of the representation, dated 27.11.2017.

2. It is the specific case of the petitioner that the petitioner's land was acquired by the Government and that an award also came to be passed by the Special Tahsildar, Srivilliputhur, on 06.05.1986. It is the specific case of the petitioner that his agricultural property was acquired and he was forced to shift to Kovilpatti to seek new opportunities for life and thus, the petitioner was displaced. It is therefore submitted that the petitioner is entitled to the benefit of G.O.Ms.No.656, Labour and Employment Department, dated 29.06.1978.

3. The learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondents would submit that appropriate orders will be passed on the representation, of the petitioner, dated 27.11.2017, within a period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

Recording the above said submission, this Writ Petition is disposed of by directing the respondents to pass appropriate orders on the representation of the petitioner, dated 27.11.2017, on merits and in accordance with law, in the light of G.O.Ms.No.656, Labour and Employment Department, dated 29.06.1978, within a period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
