PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Certiorari, to call for the records relating to the impugned order issued by the 1st respondent in his proceedings in G.O.Ms.No.9 Higher Education (E1) Department dated 18.01.2018 and quash the same in so far as it restricts the minority status of the petitioner's college for a limited period of five years i.e., from 2017-18 to 2021-22 is concerned as illegal. ORDER
The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that during the pendency of the present Writ Petition, the Government has issued another Government Order in G.O.(Ms).No.17, BC, MBC and Minorities Welfare (MW1) Department, dated 02.02.2024 and in view of the above Government Order, the status of the petitioner has, now, been altered.
2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has also given an application before the first respondent. The copy of the application has not been filed before this Court.

3. Considering the fact that the government has issued fresh G.O in G.O.Ms.No.17 BC, MBC and Minorities Welfare (MW1) Department, dated 02.02.2024, this Writ Petition is closed. However, the petitioner is at liberty to pursue the remedy before the first respondent in the light of the above Government Order. If any such application is filed before the first respondent, the first respondent is directed to consider and pass appropriate orders as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of 12 weeks from the date of filing of the application.
Accordingly, this Writ Petition stands closed, with the above observations. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
