Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, for the issuance of a writ of certiorarified mandamus to call for the records pertaining to the impugned order in Na.Ka.P4/4090/2017 dated 30.10.2017 on the file of the respondent no.2 and consequently to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner for appointment to the post of Village Secretary in the available vacancies within Thiruppullani Panchayat Union within the time stipulated by this court and pass orders. ORDER

The petitioner had been appointed as a Village Secretary in the Medhalodai Village Panchayat pursuant to a resolution dated 15.07.1998. Admittedly, she had sought for and obtained leave from the month of September 2000 for her marriage and had never resumed duty.

2. The impugned order records the position that ultimately she had sent representations only on 09.10.2017 and 10.10.2017 seeking appointment to the post of Village Secretary. The representations have come to be rejected by way of impugned order dated 30.10.2017 citing the unexplained and inordinately long gap in the interim.

3. No case whatsoever has been made out for interference with the impugned order. Admittedly, the petitioner has not placed on record any material to substantiate the absence for a period of 17 years. Thus, the question of reinstatement of the petitioner does not arise. Writ Petition is Dismissed. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
