O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking direction to the 2nd respondent to change the petitioner's name as "Kumareshwari" instead of "Uma" in the petitioner's son's Birth Certificate vide Registration No.446/2007/07 dated 31.05.2007, on the basis of the petitioner's application dated 14.05.2024, within the stipulated time fixed by this Court.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner, the learned Special Government Pleader, who takes notice for respondents 1, 3 and 4 and the learned Counsel, who takes notice for the second respondent.

3. With the consent of both sides, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

4. The grievance of the petitioner is that in the brith certificate of her son, the name of the petitioner has been wrongly mentioned as "Uma" instead of "Kumareshwari". In this regard, the petitioner has made a representation on 14.05.2024 before the second respondent. Since no action has been taken, the petitioner has filed this Writ Petition.

Considering the limited relief sought for in this Writ Petition, without going into the merits of the case, this Court directs the second respondent to verify the relevant records and after satisfying that it is only a clerical mistake, thereafter, shall correct the name of the petitioner in her son's birth certificate, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
