Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the Respondents No.1 to 3 to consider the petitioner's representation dated 19.07.2022 to make correction in the revenue records in respect of S.No.350/2 in Patta No.1887 of an extent of 0.79.5 Hectares in Mandapam Group Village in the name of P.Gandhi within the time period that may be fixed by this Court.

ORDER

The above writ petition is filed for a mandamus to issue direction to Respondents No.1 to 3 to consider the petitioner's representation dated 19.07.2022 to make correction in the revenue records in respect of S.No. 350/2, Patta No.1887 to an extent of 0.79.5 Hectares in Mandapam Group Village, Ramanathapuram in the name of the petitioner.

2. Mr.B.Saravanan, learned Additional Government Pleader, on instructions, would submit that the acquisition proceedings itself stand cancelled by the Tahsildar, Ramanathapuram, by communication dated 28.06.2023.

3. For better appreciation, the communication dated 28.06.2023 of the Tahsildar, Ramanathapuram is produced as follows:

4. In view of the fact that the acquisition proceedings itself stood cancelled, the request of the petitioner to correct the revenue records and revert it to the petitioner's name shall be done.

5. In the result, this Writ Petition is allowed and Respondents No.1 to 3 are directed to correct the revenue records to an extent of 0.79.5 Hectares in S.No.350/2, Patta No.1887, Mandapam Group Village Ramanathapuram and revert it to the petitioner's name within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
