ORDER
This petition is filed seeking for a direction to the respondent police to grant permission and police protection to conduct muppooja festival from 28.07.2023 to 01.08.2023 at Sri Vinayakar, Sri Sapthakannimarkal, Sri Karuppasamy, Sri Maduraiveeran Swamy, Sri Theepanjiamman, Sri Malaichamy, Sri Pattavan Swamy Temple, Pothuravuthanpatti Puthukulam, Pothuravuthanpatti Village, Krishnarayapuram Taluk, Karur District, based upon the petitioner's representation dated 11.07.2023.
2.It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the petition mentioned temple is a private temple belonging to the family of the petitioner and the petitioner is intending to perform the festival from 28.07.2023 to 01.08.2023, 2/6
thereby an application is filed before the respondent police to accord permission and suitable police protection and the same is not being considered, therefore, sought for issuance of suitable directions.
3.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) on the other hand submits that the rival group is creating lot of issues in respect of the conduct of the temple festival and when the peace committee meeting was conducted earlier, both the petitioner and the rival group have created law and order problem and accordingly, a case has been registered under Section 107 Cr.P.C., against both the groups, which is still pending. It is submitted further that on the representation of the petitioner dated 11.07.2023, a peace committee meeting is organized tomorrow by the Tahsildar and based on the outcome of the peace committee meeting, the police will consider grant of the permission to the petitioner. 4.Considering the circumstances, this Petition is disposed of by directing the petitioner to attend the peace committee meeting tomorrow and based on the outcome of the meeting, the police are directed to consider grant of the permission to conduct the festival from 28.07.2023 to 01.08.2023 at Sri 3/6
