ORDER

This writ petition has been filed, seeking a direction to the respondents to grant permission and necessary protection to perform the cultural programme on 24.05.2016, 25.05.2016 and 26.05.2016 on first, second and third day festival celebrated by the petitioner's Therkku Theru Aympathur Devangar Uravinmurai in Aruppukkottai Town which is schedule to be held between 9 p.m. to 01.00 a.m. at Singara Kalaiarangam situated in Amman Sannathi at Sri Ramalinga Sowedambigai Amman Temple and to consider the representation dated 02.05.2016.

Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the villagers jointly decided to perform cultural programme in Amman Sannathi at Sri Ramalinga Sowedambigai Amman Temple to be held on 24.05.2016, 25.05.2016 and 26.05.2016. He would further submit that in this connection, a representation was given to the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

respondent police on 02.05.2016, with a request to grant permission to conduct the programme on the above said date. However, the respondent Police has not yet considered the said representation and hence, the petitioner is before this Court with this Writ Petition.

3. Heard the learned counsel on either side.

In view of the limited scope of prayer sought for in this petition, the respondent police are directed to pass orders in accordance with law either permitting or rejecting the representation dated 02.05.2016, given by the petitioner on or before 24.05.2016 in the light of the previous orders of this Court, dated 30.04.2015 passed in W.P.(MD)No.7397 of 2015 and also taking into account the law and order problem and other aspects, prevailing in the area, as expeditiously as possible and in view of the earlier order passed by this Court in W.P(MD)No.6833 of 2015.

5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
