Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the first respondent to renew the Petitioner's Passport in Passport No.L9087645, by disposing in File No.MD1077554362125, pending on his file, within the stipulated time fixed by this Court.

ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for a Mandamus to direct the first respondent to renew the Petitioner's Passport in Passport No.L9087645 pending on his file.

2. The learned Government Advocate for the second respondent submits that the petitioner has been arrayed as Accused No.1 in Crime No.63 of 2023 on the file of the second respondent for the offences under Sections 294(b), 323 of IPC read with Section 4 of TNPHW Act. He further submits that no charge sheet has been filed so far.

3. Considering the same, there can be no impediment in directing the first respondent to renew the petitioner's passport in terms of Section 6(2)(f) of the Passports Act, 1967.

4. Accordingly, the first respondent is directed to renew the passport of the petitioner as expeditiously as possible preferably within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 2/4

5. The writ petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
