O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for a direction to the respondent to grant permission to perform a religious drama on 23.05.2016 and cultural event Orchestra, Adal Padal (Isai Nigalchi) to be conducted on 24.05.2016 on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 09.05.2016 in connection with the celebration at Arulmigu Shri Kumarapatti Shri Kali Amman Kovil, Ellupur Taluk, Pudukottai District.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the villagers jointly decided to conduct "Adal Padal Programme" scheduled to be held on 23.05.2016 & 24.05.2016. He would further submit that in this connection, a representation was given to the respondent police on 09.05.2016, with a request to grant permission to conduct the programme on the above said date. However, the respondent Police has not yet considered the said representation and hence, the petitioner is before this Court with this Writ Petition.

3. Heard the learned counsel on either side.

4. In view of the limited scope of prayer sought for in this petition, the respondent is directed to pass orders on merits and in accordance with law on or before 23.05.2016, either permitting or rejecting the representation dated 09.05.2016, given by the petitioner, in the light of the previous orders of this Court dated 30.04.2015 passed in W.P.(MD)No.7397 of 2015 and also taking into account the law and order problem and other aspects, prevailing in the area, as expeditiously as possible. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
