This writ petition has been filed for a direction to the second respondent to permit the petitioner to take out a procession consisting of 50 two -wheelers and 50 four-wheelers for garlanding Perasar Perumbidigu Mutharaiyar statue during 1341th Sathaya Vizha on 23.05.2016 and to provide adequate police protection.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that every year, the State Government has celebrated the birthday of Perasar Perumbidigu Muthariyar in the name of Satahya Vizha and this year also, the State Government declared on 23.05.2016 as 1341th Sathaya Vizha. He would further submit that in this connection, a representation was given to the second respondent on 06.05.2016. However, the respondent Police has not yet considered https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

the said representation and hence, the petitioner is before this Court with this Writ Petition.

3. Heard the learned counsel on either side.

In view of the above, the second respondent is directed to consider and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, either permitting or rejecting the representation dated 06.05.2016, given by the petitioner, taking into account the law and order problem and other aspects, prevailing in that area, as expeditiously as possible.

With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
