PRAYER : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 24.10.2017 for reclassifying the land and issue patta for the lands in S.No.22B/10 in favour of temple as Sri Periyakaruppan and Alamezhu Mangai Amman Temple, which is situated at Orathanadu Taluk, Kavalipatti village. ORDER

This writ petition is filed to direct the respondents to reclassify the property in S.No.22B/10 and to issue patta for the said property in favour of Sri Periyakaruppan and Alamezhu Mangai Amman Temple situated at Orathanadu Taluk, Kavalipatti village. 1/3

2.According to the petitioner, though he made a representation dated 24.10.2017 to the 1st respondents seeking to cancel the order of the Commissioner of the Panchayat Union, dated 08.09.2017 and with the relief sought for in the prayer, so far, no action has been taken. Hence, the present writ petition. 3.The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 and 2 would submit that the District Revenue Officer is the competent authority for making necessary changes in the UDR patta and for the relief stated supra, but in the case on hand, though the petitioner made a representation dated 24.10.2017 to the 1st respondent, he did not submit any representation before the District Revenue Officer.

4.In reply, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner requested before this Court that liberty may be given to the petitioner to submit a fresh representation before the District Revenue Officer concerned to workout his remedy. 5.By recording the submission made by the learned Special Government Pleader, with such liberty, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
