Writ Petitions filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1,2 and 3 to settle petitioner surrender leave salary so far not given by the Respondent corporation for 99 days in respect of years 2010 to 2019 together with interest at the rate of 18 percent per annum payable from 1/4

the date of retirement to till the date of actual payment. For Petitioner : Mr.D.Siva Raman For Respondents : Mr.K.Ramaiah TNSTC Standing Counsel

O R D E R

The present Writ Petition has been filed by a retired Driver of the respondent Transport Corporation, seeking disbursement of the surrender leave salary along with interest.

2. Though the petitioner has retired on 30.06.2023, the surrender leave salary has not been disbursed to the writ petitioner, despite giving representation to the respondents on 19.04.2025, for disbursing the said benefits. Since the representation has not been considered, the present Writ Petition has been filed.

3. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents.

4. Considering the above said facts, the respondent herein is directed to release the eligible surrender leave salary upon the writ 2/4

petitioner along with interest at the rate of 6% p.a., from the due date till the date of disbursement, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above said observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
