O R D E R

[Order of the Court was made by R.MAHADEVAN, J.] The prayer in this writ petition is for issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to punish the persons, who made loss to the State Exchequer, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 03.06.2017.

2. According to the petitioner, in the concrete works of Cannadian Canal of Sittraru Irrigation Division, Tenkasi and Thamiraparani Irrigation Taluk, Thamiraparani Irrigation Division, the respondents 4 to 7 used substandard materials and thereby, caused heavy loss to the State Exchequer.

3. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submitted that the allegations made by the petitioner are not true and baseless and if required, the Authorities would inspect the site in the presence of the petitioner and if any irregularity is found, necessary action would be taken against the official concerned.

4. In view of the above submission, the Authority concerned shall conduct inspection in the Cannadian Canal in the presence of the petitioner and find out as to whether any irregularity has been taken place as alleged by the petitioner and if so, take necessary action against the official concerned in the manner known law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above directions, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
