Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue Writ of Mandamus directing the first and second respondents to permit the petitioner temple to conduct the 74th Coronation Festival and religious conference and procession on 7th and 8th festival with milk pot from 05.01.2021 to 15.01.2021, on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 10.12.2020. By consent, this Writ Petition is taken for final hearing.

2. Mr.S.Chandrasekar, learned Additional Public Prosecutor takes notice for the first respondent. Mr.R.Saravana Kumar, learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) takes notice for the second and third respondents.

3. Mr.P.R.Prithviraj, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is the President of Arulmigu Sri Krishna Bhagavan Thirukovil and that there are 240 registered members of the said temple. According to him, the 74th Coronation Festival is to be conducted from 05.01.2020 to 14.01.2021 and that the said festival involves religious beliefs and customs. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

WP(MD)No.19756 of 2020 His further submission is that he has submitted a representation dated 10.12.2020 to the respondents seeking permission to perform the said festival and so far, no action has been taken by the respondents.

4. Mr.R.Saravana Kumar, learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) would submit that the representation dated 10.12.2020 of the petitioner was not received by the respondents 2 and 3. However, a perusal of the records shows that the petitioner has sent his representation to all the respondents and acknowledgment cards have also been filed.

5. In the circumstances, without going into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, this Court directs the respondents 2 and 3 to consider the representation of the petitioner and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law.

6. With the above observations, this petition is disposed of. No costs.
