O R D E R

This Writ Petition is filed in the nature of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to grant permission and police protection for conducting Cock Fight (Vettrukkal Seval) to be held on 13.08.2023 between 10 AM to 06.00 PM at Survey no. 1011/2B2 in Pattaraikatti Vilai, Vijayanarayanam, Tirunelveli District based on the petitioners representation dated 10.07.2023.

2. Learned Government Advocate submitted that eventhough, the Hon'ble Single Judge of this Court did not permit 'Cock Fight' to be performed, the Hon'ble Division Bench of this Court has granted permission for such events with some conditions. He further submitted that the date on which, permission was sought for conducting the event, is over.

3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is ready to present a fresh representation seeking permission for Cock Fight, by giving particular date and time.

4. The petitioner is directed to give a fresh representation to the second respondent by giving specific date and time for conducting the event. If such representation is made, the second respondent shall pass orders on the representation favourably, by taking into account the order of the Hon'ble Division Bench of this Court, passed in W.P(MD)No.592 of 2023.

5.With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
