For R1 : Mr.E.Antony Sahaya Prabahar Additional Public Prosecutor For R2 : Mr.R.Anand O RDER This petition is filed seeking quashment of STC.No.694 of 2022 on the file of the Judicial Magistrate Court No.II, Sattur, Virudhunagar District. 2.According to the learned counsel for the petitioners, the police have registered a case in STC.No.694 of 2022 against the petitioner for the offences punishable under Sections 294(b), 323 and 506(i) IPC and that even though the charges were framed on 07.01.2021, there is inordinate delay in commencing the trial.

3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor on the other hand submits that he will direct the respondent police to produce the witnesses as directed by the trial Court and submitted further that the next date of hearing before the trial Court is 10.08.2023. It is submitted further that subsequent to the taking cognizance of this case, on account of COVID-19 pandemic, all the cases were adjourned without any progress.

4.Considering the circumstances submitted, the trial Court is hereby directed to expedite the trial in STC.No.694 of 2022 and dispose of the same not later than four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The prosecution is also directed to produce the witnesses as directed by the trial Court without fail.
