ORDER

This petition has been filed to direct the first and second respondents to provide adequate police protection to the petitioners and their family members.

2.Heard both sides.

3.The husband of the first petitioner/Savadamuthu, is an accused in Crime No.52 of 2019 for the offence under Section 302 of I.P.C., subsequently, he was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 23.08.2019, in the meanwhile, the petitioners were threatened by the respondents 3 to 10 herein. Hence the petitioners seek police protection.

4.The learned Government Advocate (criminal side) would submit that investigation is almost completed and the petitioners are noway connected with the case in Crime No.52 of 2019.

5.Considering the above facts, the prayer sought for by the petitioners cannot be granted. However, the second respondent is directed to complete the investigation and file a final report within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6.With the above observation, this criminal original petition is dismissed.
