PRAYER : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondent to conduct an enquiry and pass orders on the petitioner's application dated 17.12.2012 more particularly within a time frame as may be stipulated by this Court.

ORDER

This writ petition is filed to direct the respondent to dispose of the petitioner's application dated 17.12.2012. 2.The grievance of the petitioner is that though he made an application dated 17.12.2012 before the respondent seeking to cancel the joint patta issued under the Updating Registry Scheme in respect of the disputed property and to issue a joint patta in favour of the petitioner and others, so far no action has been taken. Hence, the present writ petition.

3.In reply, the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent, on instructions, would submit that the petitioner's application dated 17.12.2012 is still pending before the respondent and the same would be considered on merits and in accordance with law within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

4.Having regard to the limited scope of the prayer made by the petitioner and considering the submissions made on either side, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's case, is inclined to pass the following direction:- The respondent / The District Revenue Officer, Pudukkottai District, Pudukkottai, is directed to consider the petitioner's application dated 17.12.2012 and pass appropriate orders on merits https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

W.P.(MD) No.3310 of 2018 and in accordance with law within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order;

5.With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
