Heard the learned counsel on either side.

2. The petitioner seeks issuance of passport. He had given an application in this regard. The same is not considered. It appears that having participated in the Road Roko, First https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/4

2 W.P.(MD)NO.19505 OF 2020 Information Report was registered against the petitioner and that is the reason for non-processing the application.

3. It is well settled that mere pendency of the First Information Report cannot be a ground to deny passport. If the petitioner is eligible in all other respects, the first respondent will issue passport to the petitioner after completing all the usual formalities.

4. This writ petition stands allowed on these terms. No costs.
