Respondents Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for the issuance of Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents herein to disburse a sum of Rs.1,02,099/- the balance amount under insurance coverage due to the petitioner under the Prime Minister Agricultural Insurance Scheme (PMFBY) to the agriculturists insured in Bahavathimangalam Revenue Village, R.S.Mangalam Taluk, Ramanathapuram District, within the time as may be fixed by this Court in the light of the petitioner's representation by means of notice dated 11.11.2022.

ORDER

The petitioner is an agriculturist and he has insured his crop under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY). For the loss of crops, a sum of Rs.22,600/- per acre was given as insurance coverage 2/6

and on that basis, the petitioner should have been paid a sum of Rs.1,35,600/- for his six acres of land. But, he was paid only a sum of Rs.33,501/- and there was a due of Rs.1,02,099/- from the Insurance Company. Therefore, he submitted a representation dated 11.11.2022 to the respondents. Since there was no response on the said representation, the petitioner has filed this writ petition for a Mandamus directing the respondents to consider his representation dated 11.11.2022.

2. The learned counsel appearing for the 5th respondent submits that the petitioner's representation dated 11.11.2022 as well as this writ petition are filed without giving any details with regard to the Insurance ID Number and Insurance Policy Number and therefore, it is very difficult for the 5th respondent to identify the case of the petitioner and to find out as to whether there is any due to be paid to the petitioner or not.

Considering the submission of the learned counsel appearing for the 5th respondent, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the petitioner to submit a fresh representation along with his Insurance ID Number and Insurance Policy Number to the 5th respondent, within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. In the event a fresh representation is submitted by the petitioner with the Insurance ID Number and Policy Number, the 5th respondent shall consider the same in accordance with the scheme, within a period of eight weeks from thereon.
