O R D E R
The petitioner has filed the present writ petition seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to grant a free agricultural electricity service connection under the Revised SelfFinancing Scheme (RSFS) in respect of the land comprised in Survey No.99/6A, Patta No.13019, situated at Thandanthottam Village, Kumbakonam Taluk, Thanjavur District, pursuant to Application 2/5
Registration No.4850316134.
2. The petitioner states that his grandfather, during his lifetime, had applied for a free agricultural electricity service connection. After the demise of his grandfather, a notice was issued to the petitioner's father calling upon him to produce the relevant documents. The petitioner further states that all the co-owners have executed a registered release deed relinquishing their rights in the subject property in his favour. It is, therefore, contended that he is entitled to the benefit of the application originally submitted by his grandfather. The grievance of the petitioner is that, despite submitting a representation dated 01.06.2026, no orders have been passed thereon.
3. Learned counsel appearing for the respondents, on instructions, submitted that the petitioner's representation dated 01.06.2026 would be considered and disposed of by the second respondent, on its own merits and in accordance with law, within such time as may be stipulated by this Court. The said submission is placed on record. 3/5
4. In view of the above submission, and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's claim, this Court is inclined to direct the second respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 01.06.2026, on its own merits and in accordance with law, after affording an opportunity of hearing to all the parties concerned.
5. The aforesaid exercise shall be completed within a period of six
(6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. There shall be no order as to costs.
