O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed seeking the issuance of a writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 20.03.2023 and the reminder representation dated 04.04.2026 and to intimate the details of the outstanding loan amount payable by the petitioner's and the interest waiver granted in respect of the loan under G.O.(Ms). No.31, Housing and Urban Development Department, dated 03.03.2023, within a stipulated time frame.

2. Heard Mr.R.Manoharan, learned counsel for the petitioner and Ms.R.Shivashankari, learned Counsel for the State, who accepts notice on behalf of the sole respondent.

3. By consent of both parties, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

4. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner had availed a loan from the respondent Bank. However, the petitioner has been unable to ascertain the outstanding loan amount payable, thereby preventing him from settling the loan under the One Time Settlement Scheme. In this regard, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 20.03.2023 seeking the details of the outstanding dues. Since the said representation has not been considered till date, the petitioner has approached this Court by filing the present writ petition.

5. The learned counsel would further submit that the petitioner would be satisfied if this Court issues a direction to the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 20.03.2023 and pass appropriate orders thereon within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

Considering the above facts and circumstances of the case and without going into the merits of the case, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent, to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 20.03.2023 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law. 3/6

Such exercise shall be completed as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed. 29.06.2026 NCC : Yes / No Index : Yes / No Internet : Yes PKN 4/6
